Warner Bros. Post-Production Services Re-Recording Stage 12
To accommodate the growing business and changing workflows, Warner Bros. Post-Production Services in Burbank, Calif., has completed construction on two new, premier facilities: ADR 2 and Re-Recording Stage 12. Kim Waugh, Senior Vice President, Post Production Services, Warner Bros. Studio Facilities, made the announcement.

ADR 2 will be used primarily for automated dialog replacement on television projects, while Stage 12 will service the feature film community. Both build upon WBPPS’s commitment to operate facilities that offer the most advanced technology and sophisticated room design as well as attract the best talent in the industry.
“We are continually looking for new ways in which to better serve our clients and the post community, and one of those ways is to improve upon and expand our facilities,” says Waugh. “ADR 2 and Stage 12 not only increase the options our clients have when working with our team of post-production sound talent, but because of them, we are able to accommodate and respond to changing workflows and schedules in our industry.”
A unique feature of ADR 2 is its spacious talent green room adjacent to the recording environment.

Stage 12 features a hybrid of traditional motion picture technology and workstation mixing. AMS Neve DFC and Digidesign ICON control surfaces co-exist for maximum flexibility in re-recording. The Stage also features a unique console frame design, which allows the mixing desk to be reconfigured and the console control surfaces to be rearranged to accommodate unique needs or mixing preferences. In keeping with WBPPS’s commitment to providing a world-class atmosphere for its clients, Stage 12 includes a kitchen area, as well as a producer’s lounge and editing suites.

ADR 2 and Stage 12 are the first of several new WBPPS facility upgrades. In spring 2009, the Studio will unveil its newest post-production sound facility, which is currently under construction.
The last major advancements occurred in 2005, when WBPPS opened a new 52,000-square-foot building, which includes two feature re-recording stages, an ADR stage with a spacious talent green room, 12 sound editorial/design suites and 12 DVD audio mastering suites, all featuring Pro Tools HD. With the completion of ADR 2 and Stage 12, the Studio’s sound campus now features five large-format feature re-recording stages, six television re-recording stages, a restoration re-recording stage, the Eastwood Scoring Stage, a Foley stage, eight screening rooms supporting both Dolby and RealD 3-D, four ADR stages and three audio restoration suites supported by over 300 sound and picture editorial suites.
Warner Bros. Post-Production Services is a creative resource for not only Warner Bros. Studios television and film projects but also the industry at large with comprehensive post-production sound facilities.
