It will cover topics ranging from the technical side of recording to the creative aspects of engineering and producing, as well as how to determine a rate for your services.

Panels will be informal and conversational to aid in getting to the heart of how they have managed to make a living while making great records.

Friday night’s kick off party will be a “live to 2-track recording session” with a few of Nashville’s top players, including Billy Livsey (Tina Turner), Stuart Mathis (The Wallflowers), and Brad Pemberton (Ryan Adams & The Cardinals). Saturday night will feature a listening party for The Flaming Lips’ Zaireeka.

The summit is strictly limited to 60 attendees and priced at $150 (student discounts are available). Interested attendees can contact Welcome to 1979 owner Chris Mara directly via email at to reserve a spot while there is still time.
