Digidesign debuted the all-new Pro Tools|HD 7 software for Pro Tools|HD systems, Pro Tools LE 7 software for Pro Tools LE systems and Pro Tools M-Powered 7 software for Pro Tools M-Powered systems. Pro Tools 7 software is a cross-platform release, supporting Windows XP and Mac OS X computers.

Features in Pro Tools 7 include all-new Instrument Tracks for improved integration with virtual instruments and MIDI sound modules; new real-time MIDI processing; REX and ACID file support; host processing optimization for the ability to run more instances of RTAS processing and instrument plug-ins; and a streamlined, reorganized menu structure that lets users work faster.
