Vintage King’s new “Make Your Mark” video series has been launched to profile innovative pro audio people who have established successful careers on a grassroots level.  The series documents the many varied career paths that are often overlooked in the pop culture of celebrity focus.

“‘Make Your Mark’ is about the different paths and experiences that make us want to spend our lives making music and recording,” explained Brian Berryman, VK Marketing & Brand Manager.  “We’re not just focusing on the big guys, but people from all backgrounds and styles. We want to show the world that there are many ways that people can be involved in music. It’s also about capturing the motivation, inspiration and emotion that draws us to this world. It’s really the reason why Vintage King was started and even as we grow, it’s a guiding force for us.”

For Ted Greenberg, the star of the second installment in the “Make Your Mark” series, a love of audio seemed predestined from birth. The Greenbergs were a musical family, and he became involved in drums at an early age. After working on projects in the studio, Greenberg could never fully understand why the end result sounded so bad. He soon realized the answer was bad gear.

Once reaching college, Greenberg began buying his own gear, starting out with what he could afford, but gradually making the move to better audio equipment. It was around this time that he began laying the foundation of his own studio in Philadelphia, and thanks to a meeting with Vintage King co-founder Mike Nehra, the duo began packing the space with premium gear.

In the time since, Greenberg has worked as a session musician, songwriter, teacher, engineer and producer, even picking up two Grammys for his work on the moving documentary, “Standing in the Shadows of Motown.”  Eventually making his way to Los Angeles, Greenberg is currently in the process of building out a new facility to house his massive collection of audio gear.

To hear from Greenberg himself, head to the “Make Your Mark” page to watch the mini-doc. Stay tuned as Vintage King’s ongoing series will continue to chronicle the amazing feats and gear of some of the audio world’s most interesting creators.
