Nashville, TN (November 30, 2010)–The historic Teatro San Teodoro in Cantù, Italy recently decided to install a new sound system, going with One Systems, a manufacturer of direct weather loudspeakers for sports and entertainment venues.
The theatre opened its doors in 1921, but due to various circumstances, had been closed since the late 1980’s. After a $2 Million investment and four years of restoration and refurbishing, the theatre will re-open just in time for Christmas. The newly renovated theatre will host a variety of local and national comedians and other entertainment, and seats 200 people.
Sellservice of Italy performed the installation, while working closely with One Systems’ Italian Distributor, Etabeta Electronics SRL of Bregnano, Italy and project designer, Alberto Santini. Teatro San Teodoro never had a sound system and the challenge for Etabeta and Sellservice was to maintain and respect the original 20th century architecture, yet achieve the best coverage and highest vocal intelligibility possible. “Our biggest challenge was to install a sound system that would supply adequate volume from speakers with small dimensions. The most important requirement in this particular venue is to provide the listeners accurate, pristine vocal reproduction. The intelligibility of One Systems loudspeakers helped us immensely to deliver a satisfactory sound system solution,” says Santini of the installation.
The small size, shape and white color of the 108IMs and 106IMs helped create a non-obtrusive look that minimized the aesthetic impact on the theatre’s foyer. Each speaker was mounted on the walls with One Systems’ flexible pan and tilt brackets. “The reasons we chose One Systems was because their specialized mounting options, slim, white enclosures and high vocal intelligibility, all which were very important to the client,” recalls Santini.
