Sweetwater Productions, the recording studios for musical instrument and pro audio retailer Sweetwater Sound, based in Fort Wayne, Ind., reports that it received a call from a representative of Godsmack at 3 p.m. on a Friday in September 2012. Godsmack was performing a concert in Indianapolis the next day as part of the Uproar Tour and the sound company they had hired had cancelled at the last minute.
The band needed Sweetwater Productions to record the show and bring extra mics and equipment. Sweetwater Productions’ crew was there the next morning at 9 a.m. for load-in and that night, recorded all four main stage acts: Adelitas Way, Staind, Godsmack and Shinedown. Total recording time was more than four hours, and accomplished by locking up a Pro Tools|HDX rig to Godsmack’s Avid VENUE console streaming 80-plus tracks.
