Hollywood, CA (February 6, 2017)—The stars came out when noted producer, engineer and YouTube auteur Warren Huart celebrated his birthday at Sunset Sound Studios on January 28.
The event was not just a celebration of Huart’s birthday but also of the legendary facility’s legacy. All three studios were open to guests, and as they wandered the complex music recorded and mixed at the facility was played through Genelec speakers, including Prince’s Purple Rain, which was mixed in studio 3. A live band with Alex Burke also performed music throughout the night by artists who have recorded at Sunset Sound. The party ran from 7 p.m. to midnight
Notable attendees included musicians such as Jerry Jemmott (Aretha Franklin, B.B. King), Brandino (Justin Timberlake, Mary J. Blige), CJ Vanston (Spinal Tap, Joe Cocker), Scott Shriner (Weezer), Tony Franklin (Kenny Wayne Shepherd, The Firm), Paul Ill (Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys), Tanya O’Callaghan (Maynard James Keenan), Erik Eldenius (Billy Idol) and Pete Thorn (Chris Cornell, Melissa Etheridge).
Top producers and engineers included Cameron Webb (Motorhead, Weezer), Ross Hogarth (Van Halen, Motley Crue), Brian Lucey (Black Keys, Counting Crows) and Tommy Vicari (Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Prince).
BAE Audio, Genelec, Lewitt, Vintage King, Trinnov and McDSP sponsored the event, with drinks provided by Jack Daniels.
