Prism Sound has appointed newly formed company Funky Junk Spain as its exclusive Spanish distributor with responsibility for its entire range high quality audio interfaces and processors.
Based in Vigo, Funky Junk Spain is jointly owned by Paolo Orizio, who already heads Funky Junk Italy, and Sergio Castro, director of Spanish-based distribution and acoustics consultancy Reflexion Arts.
Graham Boswell, Sales Director for Prism Sound, says: “We have been working with Paolo in Italy for many years and have always enjoyed a good and profitable relationship with his company. He has long wanted to expand his operation into Spain and that ambition has now come to fruition. When we learned that he had established Funky Junk Spain we were very happy to extend our Spanish distribution to him and Sergio.”
Reflexion Arts represents a number of well-known pro audio brands including Audient, Lynx, Rupert Neve Designs, TUBE-TECH and Earthworks. As a new company, Funky Junk Spain is now establishing relationships with other pro audio manufacturers and will be extending its client roster over coming months.
“Following the ethos of Reflexion Arts, Funky Junk Spain will focus on serious pro audio products that are aimed at the professional market,” Sergio Castro explains. “Prism Sound is a world leader in high-quality professional audio technology and its converters and signal processors are ideally suited to the needs of recording professionals. I have always admired the company’s products and I am delighted that we are now representing them in Spain.”
Paolo Orizio adds: “I’ve been working with Prism Sound for years and I’m fully confident about both the company and its products. We now have the honour of representing Prism Sound in Spain and the challenge to expand the market despite the current difficult economic climate. But we like challenges, and so, here we are!”
Among the products that Funky Junk Spain now represents are the ADA-8XR precision 8-channel converter, which is regularly used for music and film soundtrack projects by clients such as EMI Abbey Road, BBC, Sony, Lucasfilm and Walt Disney, and the Orpheus FireWire computer interface, a 192kHz-capable unit that works with both PC and Apple Mac. Orpheus and the ADA-8XR have won numerous awards for technical innovation and sound quality.
